Introduction

Who never had the dream to take part in the legendary Paris-Dakar which begins at the Eiffel Tower in Paris and ends, 15 days later, at the famous Lac Rose (Pink Lake) in Dakar?

A once in a lifetime experience crossing wide expanses of desert with oceans of sand, being under starry skies in the middle of a mass of dunes, and crossing challenging mountain ranges and rivers plus miles of rocky trails. Entrants will also need to learn & use precise navigational skills to follow the route and perform timed stages throughout the rally. Welcome to the classic Paris to Dakar 14 day endurance race, an event that follows the original Paris Dakar route of Thierry Sabine and will test participating competitors to their limits.

Paul Webb (pictured below) will be competing in the 2009 rallye riding a KTM 525 rallye bike specially built for this event by Patsy Quick. His goal is to reach Dakar and in doing so experience the intensity of this adventure. Patsy Quick’s ‘Desert Rose Racing’ will be supporting Paul throughout the rallye with experienced rallye mechanics to assist in servicing & repairing his bike.
